According to the 2023 estimates, Romania is home to 8,900 Jews. One of the largest Jewish communities in the world before the Holocaust, Romanian Jewry today contributes to all aspects of Romanian society and is heavily involved in the political and diplomatic development of the country.
The Romanian Jewish community is represented by the Federaţia Comunităţilor Evreieşti Din România (Federation of Jewish Communities in Romania) – the Romanian affiliate of the World Jewish Congress.
