In 2020, Canada had 393,000 Jews, ranking as the world's fourth-largest Jewish community. The Canadian Jewish community is predominantly Ashkenazi, but there is a sizable Sephardic minority concentrated in Montreal that includes immigrants from North Africa. Prominent in public life, including popular culture and high offices of the state, Canadian Jews contribute largely to the country’s national sense of self.
The Jewish community in Canada is represented by the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA) - the Canadian affiliate of the World Jewish Congress.
