The Riegner Telegram

On 8 August 1942, WJC representative in Geneva Gerhart M. Riegner dictated a telegram to US diplomats about Hitler's plans to exterminate the Jews of Europe. But it took months before the critical information in the Riegner Telegram was ever made public. Riegner's warning was not heeded until it was too late to help millions of Jewish victims of the Holocaust.
