Jewish women in the arts: Nobel Prize winner Nelly Sachs

Writer Nelly Sachs had to flee Nazi Germany because she was Jewish. Her literary works delved into the on-going Jewish experience of persecution and the Holocaust. She went on to win the Nobel Prize in Literature.
