EU coordinator on combatting antisemitism: 'The Holocaust did not happen in a vacuum'

In an interview, European Commission's Coordinator for combatting antisemitism Katharina von Schnurbein said, "[The Holocaust] was caused by bystanders who were silent and kept silent in the face of injustice. And I think when we look at how the situation is today with regards to hatred, and hatred also on the internet, for example, the question is: Are we bystanders or do we actively go against it?
