The Labour party in the UK has apologized for 'offensive' posters which were to have been used in the next election. The posters depicting the opposition Conservative leader Michael Howard, who is Jewish, as a flying pig and a 'Shylock' like character were withdrawn following complaints from the Jewish community and Mr. Howard. The party's publicity chief, Alastair Campbell, promised that in future Labour would be "ultra-sensitive about the potential for upsetting people".
