The Jewish singer who stood against the Nazis

In March 1943, the Nazis began deporting Greek Jews to Auschwitz. In Athens, famed Jewish rebetiko singer Roza Eskenazi stood up to work against them. Protected by fake baptism papers, she helped hide local Jews and the Greek Resistance.

For Women’s History Month, this is one story of an incredible woman who stood up against evil during the darkest hours of history.
