Irena Sendler, the Polish woman who rescued Jewish children from the Warsaw Ghetto

Polish social worker Irena Sendler, born on February 15, 1910, rescued thousands of Jewish children from the Warsaw Ghetto during the Holocaust. She took a stand against cruelty and injustice - at great risk to her own life.
