David Saltiel is the President of the Central Board of Jewish Communities in Greece (2010- 2013, 2016- to this date), the Jewish Community of Thessaloniki (2001-), and the Holocaust Museum of Greece (2022-). He has served as Vice President of the World Jewish Congress (2013-2017).

He has dedicated his life to the revival and welfare of the Greek Jewish Communities, the preservation of Holocaust Memory through education, the support of the State of Israel, and to the fight against racism and antisemitism.

His achievements include the establishment of the Holocaust Remembrance Day in Greece, the foundation of the Holocaust Museum of Greece, the public awareness campaign to expose the neonazi and criminal character of the Golden Dawn party that resulted in the GD’s conviction in court and the incarceration of its leadership, the inclusion of Greek Holocaust survivors in the Compensation Scheme under Article 2-Fund of the Claims Conference, Holocaust educational programs for schools and educators and many more.
