World Jewish Congress statement on newly sanctioned individuals

NEW YORK – Reacting to the announcement today from the U.S. Department of State that God Nisanov is one of the individuals added to its sanctions list, the World Jewish Congress released the following statement:

“The World Jewish Congress reiterates and reaffirms that no one who is included on any list of sanctioned individuals by the United States, the United Kingdom or the European Union in relation to the conflict in Ukraine can hold any position or play any role in the organization. 

"Accordingly, God Nisanov is no longer a WJC Vice President and has ceased to serve on the WJC Executive Committee.”
