JERUSALEM — The American Section of the World Jewish Congress stands in full support of the government of Israel as it confronts the grave and growing threat posed by the Iranian regime. For decades, Israel has warned the international community of Iran’s nuclear ambitions and its sponsorship of terror—an existential danger not only to the Jewish state, but to global stability.
“Israel has the right—and the responsibility—to defend itself against those who seek its destruction,” said Phil Rosen, Chair of the American Section. “The world should be under no illusion about the nature of the Iranian regime. This is a fight not only for Israel’s survival, but for the security of the free world.”
“We recall Prime Minister Netanyahu’s address to the United States Congress in March 2015, where he warned the world of the peril presented by a nuclear-armed Iran. Today, that threat has materialized—and Israel has acted decisively to thwart it,” Rosen continued.
“We are deeply grateful to President Trump and the United States government for its unwavering support of Israel, our strongest ally in the Middle East. As our U.S. Ambassador to Israel recently insisted, America does not stand in front of Israel or behind it, but proudly beside it.”
