BRUSSELS – On 15 March, Máté Holler, External Relations Manager at the World Jewish Congress’s Technology and Human Rights Institute (TecHRI), led a training session on TecHRI’s reporting and tracking tool, Hate Online: Preparedness and Empowerment (HO:PE) — an EU-funded initiative designed to support communities in addressing online antisemitism.
The session brought together Jewish students and activists from multiple countries and included the presentation of real-world cases of online antisemitism and Holocaust distortion. Participants engaged in discussions on how tools such as HO:PE can be integrated into their ongoing efforts to protect and support their communities.
Holler also highlighted how existing EU legislation can be leveraged to advocate for stronger platform policies on hate speech, and demonstrated how the HO:PE tool can be effectively used by both community members and professionals to address the persistent underreporting of antisemitic content online.
The following day, participants were welcomed to the WJC office in Brussels, where they received an overview of the work of TecHRI and the World Jewish Congress more broadly. The session featured remarks by Chief Operating Officer John Malkinson and Director of European Affairs Dany Levin Prist and concluded with a reception dinner.
