To commemorate International Holocaust Remembrance Day, Victoria Grace Richardson-Walden, Director of the Landecker Digital Memory Lab, participated in a panel event on 26 January, organized by the World Jewish Congress Technology and Human Rights Institute and the United Nations Outreach Programme, that explored the role that technology plays in Holocaust remembrance efforts.
In a blog post from the Landecker Digital Memory Lab, Walden shares her best practices on how to utilize emerging technologies to tackle online hate and preserve Holocaust memory. She also highlights three ways in which the Landecker Digital Memory Lab works to address the challenges of Holocaust memory retention and preservation: the need for a standard to measure the success rates of Holocaust education; mutual cooperation between tech companies and the education sector; and increasing transparency in educational and memorialization practices to counter Holocaust misinformation.
