The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) announced they are providing free access to its digital library, as the coronavirus forces people around the world to stay at home, without physical access to these resources.
UNESCO launched the initiative via Twitter, writing “[w]e know many of you are home and the walls are closing in. So... get to know the World Digital Library: free access to thousands of books, documents & photos from all countries and cultures.” The digital library, which is now available in seven languages and regardless of location, contains thousands of articles, books, documents, and photos.
The WJC works closely with UNESCO on several educational initiatives, including the creation of AboutHolocaust.org, an online resource that shares the facts of the Holocaust with people around the world.
