The primary author of a recent controversial letter asking the Russian prosecutor general's office to ban Jewish organizations has said that he intends to write a new letter "in a corrected form". The 'Motherland' party member of parliament (the Duma), Aleksandr Krutov, said that the scandal surrounding the letter "was useful for those who want to make Russia look bad. We only wanted the prosecutor to give a legal evaluation of certain facts". On 04 February the Duma adopted a resolution condemning the letter and anti-Semitism but did not mention or criticize any of the signatories.
