Outrage at Stanford University over Israel-critical comments

Jewish students at Stanford University, California, have expressed outrage over comments made by Holocaust survivor and pro-Palestinian activist Hedy Epstein, which were critical of Israel. Epstein gave a speech on campus last week titled 'Surviving the Holocaust: Witnessing History Repeated', which was promoted with fliers comparing Jews in Nazi Germany to Palestinians at Israeli checkpoints. The speech was followed by a flurry of editorials in the 'Stanford Daily' student newspaper. At an event on Saturday sponsored by Jewish student groups, Harvard professor Ruth Wisse said Palestinian leaders, not Israel, were to blame for Palestinian woes. Wisse was quoted by the Stanford Daily as saying: “Arab rulers accuse Jews of denying the Arabs land and hold Israel responsible for every problem that the Arabs created."
