A dozen leading nuclear non-proliferation experts from around the world are attending a one-day roundtable discussion on the danger of the Iranian nuclear program in Brussels. The meeting is organized under the auspices of the European Jewish Congress and the Institute for Policy and Strategy and will focus on the Iranian nuclear program and the potential propagation of nuclear terrorism around the globe. Experts from Britain, Israel, Russia, the United States and a number of European countries will discuss the key security issues affecting international relations.
"This is a vital opportunity to respond to escalating tensions around the globe," said Moshe Kantor, president of the International Luxembourg Forum on Preventing Nuclear Catastrophe. Kantor, who also heads the European Jewish Congress, added: "The international community is united in their very legitimate concerns over the use of nuclear weaponry and the dangerous potential for nuclear proliferation." He said the roundtable will gather the world's foremost minds on this topic to recommend appropriate responses to these increasingly disturbing developments. Amongst the topics for discussion is the crisis Iran, the specter of nuclear terrorism, the strengthening of UN sanctions, the security of Pakistan's nuclear weapons arsenal, and measures to counter terrorism.
