Money from the 'Hungarian Gold Train' settlement is being distributed to social service agencies to benefit Holocaust survivors. The Jewish Claims Conference (JCC) has already transferred US$ 4.2 million to 27 social service agencies and will give the same amount for the next five years. Survivors interested in learning about the assistance can access www.hungariangoldtrain.org or www.claimscon.org. The money was paid out by the US government following the 2005 settlement of a case about a trainload of goods looted by the Nazis and then confiscated by US troops during World War II.
