The World Jewish Congress, Israel’s Ministry of Diaspora Affairs to co-sponsor online forum highlighting Jewish women leaders
NEW YORK – On Tuesday, December 15, the World Jewish Congress, in partnership with Israel’s Ministry of Diaspora Affairs, will bring together Jewish women spiritual leaders from across the religious spectrum and around the globe for an online forum, “Women in Contemporary Judaism: Jewish Unity and Religious Diversity.” The event is designed to celebrate the diversity of opinions among, and acknowledge the challenges faced by, Jewish women, as well as address how to best meet these challenges going forward.
The forum will include keynote addresses by Minister of Diaspora Affairs Omer Yankelevitch, former Knesset Member Ruth Calderon and President of the Union of Italian Jewish Communities Noemi Di Segni. Two panels, “Religious Leadership: Challenges and Opportunities” and "Emerging Leaders in an Ever-Changing Jewish Landscape,” will highlight a range of Jewish women’s perspectives. Panelists represent geographic diversity as well as the Orthodox, Reform and Conservative streams of Judaism.
