Rome’s mayor has lent his support for the start up of a magazine whose editorial staff will include Jews, Christians and Muslims. Walter Veltroni, himself a former newspaper editor, described the project this week to a group of diplomats from Arab countries and other Muslim representatives. Veltroni said "Ponti" (Bridges), which he hoped would begin publication next year, would have three co-editors, one from each religion. Following the meeting, the head of Rome’s main mosque said talks were under way for Rome’s chief rabbi to visit the mosque for the first time.
