A US neo-Nazi has been sentenced to 39 years in jail for attempting to burn down a synagogue in Oklahoma City. The 21 year old man was found guilty in April of hurling a Molotov cocktail at Temple B'Nai Israel on 01 April 2004. Although the incident caused only minor damage the judge handed down a severe sentence as he had attempted to send an anti-Semitic letter to the synagogue after his conviction. The letter expressed his hatred toward the Jewish people and his desire to incite a racial holy war. The former member of the white supremacist group Aryan Nations was convicted of carrying a firearm during a crime of violence, damaging a building used in interstate commerce and having an unregistered destructive device. The convicted man expressed no remorse and gave a Nazi salute as the judge left the courtroom.
