Man found guilty of committing arson attack on Oklahoma synagogue

A man in the United States has been convicted of setting fire to a synagogue in Oklahoma City. A jury found 21-year-old Sean Gillespie of Spokane, Washington guilty of three bombing charges for throwing a Molotov cocktail at the temple B'nai Israel on 1 April 2004. Prosecutors showed jurors two videotapes, one from a surveillance camera at the temple that showed a person attacking the synagogue with a fire bomb. The other videotape was apparently discovered in Gillespie's truck; it showed him plotting his attack. Sentencing for Gillespie will be in about three months. He faces a maximum 30 years in prison and a US$ 250,000 fine.
