At its meeting in the Argentinean city of Cordoba, the Latin American Jewish Congress (CJL) has condemned 'all manifestations of terrorism'. In a statement, the Jewish umbrella body for South America also expressed its 'consternation in the face of the wave of anti-Semitism that has been unleashed in Europe and around the world'. In the declaration adopted by the representatives of 38 member organizations from 14 different countries, the CJL also declared its 'full solidarity with the State of Israel and the struggle to live in peace and security without the harassment and ferocious hostility' it currently faces. Delegates in Cordoba also addressed the question of poverty noting that 'A very important part of the Latin American population lives in conditions of poverty and marginalization, which are unacceptable to Jewish ethics'.
