In advance of a controversial conference of Palestinian supporters, the Jewish student group 'Chabad' at Duke University, Illinois, has announced that it would bring to campus the remains of a bus destroyed by a suicide bombing in Jerusalem. Chabad is expected to display Tuesday and Wednesday the remains of Bus 19, the target of a January 2004 bombing in which 11 people were killed and more than 50 injured. The graphic demonstration comes just days before the opening of the Palestine Solidarity Movement's national conference at Duke. Conference planners said more than 400 people have registered for the events. Over the weekend, attendees will listen to speakers and plan strategies for putting pressure on the Israeli government, partly by urging universities to sell their stock in companies with military ties to Israel.
