The US supreme court has refused an appeal against the French national railroad company SNCF. The plaintiffs alleged that SNCF, which is wholly owned by the French State, profited from transporting Jews to the Nazi death camps during World War II. The judges this week refused to overturn a lower court’s decision that said the SNCF railroad could not be charged in a US court. The lawsuit alleged that the railroad charged the Nazis commercial fare for train tickets for Jews deported in cattle cars during World War II.
