The French humorist Dieudonné has come out in a stinging attack against Jewish organizations and the French government. Speaking in the Algerian capital Algiers he called the French umbrella body CRIF and other Jewish groups "terrorist Zionist organizations whick are attacking me", and he criticized French prime minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin for giving a "blank check" to an organization such as the CRIF which was "anti-constitutional" and "sect-like". Dieudonné also insisted on his right to call the Shoah "memorial pornography". In a speech to the CRIF on Saturday, Raffarin indirectly referred to the satirist when criticizing artists who were "seeking applause for stirring up hatred". Socialist opposition leader François Hollande strongly condemned Dieudonné's anti-Semitic statements and called for legal action be taken against him.
