Jewish groups have reacted strongly to the decision by Montreal's Concordia University not to allow a speech by former Israeli prime minister Ehud Barak. The university's Hillel Jewish Students Association says freedom of expression is dead at Concordia. A rally will be held on Tuesday to protest a decision by university officials who said security could not be assured for a speech by Barak. In 2002, pro-Palestinian students rioted at Concordia, leading to the cancellation of a speech by another former Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.
