A Czech garden tools company announced on Wednesday that it would withdraw a television advert after the Israeli ambassador complained that it was anti-Semitic. The ad, broadcast on the three main Czech TV stations, featured a parody of an Orthodox Jew trying to get a deal on a chain saw. Announcing the decision to withdraw the ad from next week a spokesman for the company, Mountfield, said "The original aim of the spot was to highlight the positive, and in classical literature many times described, features of a good Jewish businessman, and to give an example to Mountfield's customers ... how to take benefit of the discounts we offer".
