An administrative tribunal has cleared the way for the building of a new Jewish community center in the eastern German city of Leipzig. A resident near the site had his complaint against the center turned down by the court. Several plaintiffs had argued that the building project was against administrative standards, but the court sided with the Jewish community. Leipzig's community has grown from only 30 members at the end of the Communist regime in 1989 to around 1000 today, mainly due to immigration from former Soviet Union countries.
