A member of state assembly of the US state Arizona has apologized for forwarding an anti-Semitic e-mail. Russell Pearce, a Republican, said he had not read the e-mail, which says that the media is controlled by Jews and attacks multiculturalism, the "East Valley Tribune" in Arizona reported. White supremacists have reportedly been cheering Pearce's move on the Internet, the paper said. Pearce, who is running for re-election on 7 November, had angered Hispanic groups when he called for the reinstatement of a 1950s-era federal deportation program known as Operation Wetback.
