Argentina’s president Néstor Kirchner has participated in a tribute to Jews who “disappeared” during Argentina’s dictatorship. Wearing a kippah, Kirchner also lit a Chanukah candle at Tuesday night’s event, held at the AMIA Jewish central institution in Buenos Aires. More than 3,000 Jews were among the 30,000 people who went missing or were abducted, imprisoned or murdered under the military junta from 1976 to 1983.
