An Islamic website has posted anti-Semitic political cartoons in response to the Mohammed cartoon controversy raging in Europe. The cartoons, posted on the site of the 'Arab European League' included some which denied the Holocaust and showed Hitler in bed with Anne Frank.
There have been hundreds of protests, often violent, across Europe and the middle East in response to the publication of cartoons depicting the prophet Muhammad as a terrorist. Muslims deem images of prophets disrespectful and caricatures blasphemous. The cartoons were originally published in a Danish newspaper in September 2005 but have been reproduced by several other European publications since and have also appeared on the internet.
Danish embassies have been attacked and set on fire in Lebanon and Syria, where the Norwegian embassy was also destroyed.
