Ari Hechel is a master’s student in secondary education at the Zurich University of Teacher Education, specializing in German, English, history, geography, and special needs education. Since 2016, he has been active in Jewish education and Holocaust remembrance through the Likrat and “Nachkommen erzählen” projects, visiting over 100 schools across Switzerland. He also leads synagogue tours and is a Words to Action trainer with the Anti-Defamation League. In 2023, he studied at Monash University in Melbourne. In 2024, he completed a teaching internship at the Vijay International School in the Seychelles, followed by another internship in 2025 at the Swiss International School in Mexico City. He has worked as a teaching assistant for English literature at the University of Zurich, was on the board of the Zurich Jewish Students Association (VJSZ), and co-president of the Swiss Union of Jewish Students (SUJS).
