I am proud of my Jewish heritage, my story, our traditions, and above all, our survival. Jews are a beautifully complex and colorful people, with deep histories woven across the fabrics of thousands of years.
I have Ashkenazi, Sephardi, and Mizrahi roots; my family hails from Lithuania, Poland, Latvia, Italy, Spain, Iran, Morocco, and Iraq.
Today, I live in the UK and am a proud dual citizen of the State of Israel. Members of my family survived the Holocaust, and others endured the Jewish expulsion from Arab countries after 1948. Across our Shabbat tables from Manchester, England to Lehavim, Israel, my family and I enjoy delicacies like salt beef and Baba Ghanoush, blending cuisines and customs from across the Jewish world as we discuss the issues of the day.
I was raised with pride in my Jewish identity, as were my sisters and cousins. We have each chosen what our Judaism looks like today. For me, I am proud to dedicate my life to advocating for Israel, combatting antisemitism, protecting religious freedoms, and preserving and commemorating our history. I am grateful for the Jewish pioneers who came before me, and I am excited to carry on our story.
