WJC Executive Committee, Washington DC
Calendar 23 March - 24 March 2015

Members of the World Jewish Congress Executive met in Washington, DC to discuss the growing threats to Jewish communities and the surge in anti-Semitism. The WJC leaders met with senior US lawmakers and administration officials. At a special reception, US Vice President Joe Biden commended WJC President Ronald S. Lauder for his and the WJC’s tireless efforts to combat anti-Semitism in Europe and worldwide.

In testimony before a key US congressional committee, Ronald Lauder warned that radical Islam was fueling the flames of a new anti-Semitism engulfing Europe, and criticized the United States for failing to lead the fight to extinguish the threat. Lauder and the heads of the Jewish communities of Denmark and France, Dan Asmussen and Roger Cukierman, testified before the US House of Representatives Subcommittee on Africa, Global Health, Global Human Rights, and International Organizations.
