In collaboration with the Permanent Missions of Greece to the United Nations, the Federal Republic of Germany to the United Nations and the Permanent Mission of Sweden to the United Nations, the World Jewish Congress is organizing a virtual event entitled “Education against hate speech and discrimination” on 14 September.

The discussion will center around the challenges posed by the growing disinformation and misinformation that spreads, particularly, online, as well as ways to redress this phenomenon, while ensuring the right to freedom of expression.

The event, which will take place as a virtual side-event to the 48th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, will take place in the framework of Greece’s 2021 Presidency of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA), an international organization comprised of 34 member states, dedicated to combating antisemitism and safeguarding the memory of the Holocaust. The main focus of the Greek Presidency is “Teaching and learning about the Holocaust: Education for a world with no more genocide.”
