The World Jewish Congress is delighted to invite you to an event entitled Current Issues in Protecting Freedom of Religion or Belief, which will take place on 6 April 2022 at 11:30 a.m. EDT / 17:30 CET / 18:30 IST

In recent years, intolerance and discrimination based on religion or belief have been on the rise. Receiving less attention, though, is legislation jeopardizing the religious practices of minority groups.

This event will explore best practices and how governments and the United Nations can become more effective allies in guaranteeing this fundamental right.

The event will close with a tribute to Dr. Ahmed Shaheed, UN Special Rapporteur on freedom of religion or belief, whose tenure leading the UN’s fight to ensure freedom of religion will soon come to an end.
