Having attended the, now infamous, UN World Conference Against Racism in Durban in 2001 as a 19-year-old student, this seminal experience inspired Marc to dedicate his volunteer life to the defence of the State of Israel, Jewish civil liberties, and the fight against Antisemitism in South Africa and globally.
The blatant Antisemitism and hatred of the Jewish State on display made clear to him that every Jew, each at his/her own level, has a responsibility to contribute to this fight.
Since graduating with a BA; LLB from the University of the Witwatersrand where he served as the National Chair of the SA Union of Jewish Students, Marc has held numerous communal lay leadership positions, presently as the National Vice Chair of the SAJBD, and for the last 4 years has had the privilege of serving on the WJC Executive Committee representing “Future Leadership”.
Professionally, Marc is a businessman involved in the import/manufacture and distribution of fashion accessories to the retail sector in Southern Africa as well as supply chain optimisation using data analytics.
He is a happily married father of 2 sons eagerly awaiting the arrival of a 3rd.
