Dr. Gerald Platt has been a devoted long term member of the WJC American Section Governing Board, participating regularly in meetings, conferences and trips of the World Jewish Congress.
He represents American Friends of Likud on the American Section Board, and is active in other Jewish communal organizations as well. He participates as a member of several of the American Section Committees, including the UN Committee, meeting often with UN and Washington dignitaries, and has participated many times in the Theodor Herzl Award Dinner.
Currently the president of AFL, he served in previous official capacities in AFL and has been involved in many projects in Israel and has traveled to many countries in order to help build bridges between Israel and the Jewish people.
Dr. Platt has served for many years in other American Jewish umbrella organizations, and is currently a member of the Board of NCSEJ, or the National Coalition Supporting Eurasian Jewry, an organization in the United States which advocates for the rights of Jews in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, the Baltic States, and Eurasia, and he is also a member of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations.
