Alexander Bilinkis was born on 28 June 1968 in Chisinau. In 1986, he entered the Leningrad Mining Institute. He is a Jewish leader, successful entrepreneur, public figure, and philanthropist.
Running a private business since 1992, Mr. Bilinkis invests in Moldova’s industry: food and beverages, construction, bookselling.
He has been actively involved in the life of the Jewish Community of Moldova since 2003, being its main and constant sponsor. He has been elected as its President for free consecutive terms.
Mr. Bilinkis initiates and participates in projects to perpetuate the memory of the Holocaust victims, restoring and building memorials and monuments.
For special merits in the preservation and promotion of the Jewish heritage and prodigious civic activity, he received the highest award of the country - Order of the Republic.
He has been the Vice President of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress since 2017. Mr. Bilinkis is married and has three children.
