A video message from WJC President Ronald S. Lauder

President of World Jewish Congress Ronald S. Lauder sent the following message to Jewish communities on the occasion of Rosh Hashanah:

"On the eve of Rosh Hashanah, we take a pause from the pained world around us. We take a moment to reflect back on months of upheaval and tragedy to consider: What do we hope for in the year to come? What, together as individuals, can we do, to ensure that  we are building a better world, and a better future?"

I am honored, day after day, week after week, to head this incredible network of Jewish Communities that comprises the World Jewish Congress. We know that we are stronger together than on our own. It is through our shared sense of commitment to the Jewish people – past, present and future – that we weather any crisis and celebrate every positive development.

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected each and every one of us. But I have been proud to witness the partnerships among Jewish Communities across the globe, as you have made it your mission – perhaps more in recent years than ever before – to support the individuals and families that each of your communities represents.

We have faced this new reality together. And together, we look forward to a better New Year.
On behalf of the World Jewish Congress, I wish each and every one of you a year that brings good health, happiness and hope.

Shanna Tova!
