WJC condemns WWII Bleiburg mass in Sarajevo

For the past 24 years, an annual commemoration event in Bleiburg, Austria has been used to glorify individuals who supported or were involved in the activities of Croatia's WWII-era Nazi-allied Ustata regime - which had executed hundreds of thousands of innocent people only because of their ethnic or religious identity. While the main Bleiburg event has been cancelled this year, three smaller events are taking place across the region.

The glorification of Nazi collaborators has no place in European societies today.
