Jewish sites vandalized in Greece for third time this month

Multiple Jewish sites have been vandalized in Greece this month. The latest incident occurred on 16 October when the Holocaust Monument of Thessaloniki was defaced with a swastika.

In a statement the Central Board of Jewish Communities in Greece condemned the incident, saying, "Tolerating the vandalism of cemeteries and monuments means tolerating the vandalism of memory and civilization; it represents the toleration of antisemitism. We urge the law enforcement authorities to do their utmost to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice. Let us not tolerate behaviors that aim at imposing obscurantism in our country."
