Elizabeth Chen has been teaching students of all ages for over a decade. Elizabeth currently works with international NGOs, University groups, and grassroots organizations in addition to her school partnerships in the United States. Elizabeth teaches young advocates how to lobby their student government and local Representatives and has written curriculum for elementary, middle, and high school advocacy programs. Elizabeth is a coach and judge for the New York Debate League, the American Parliamentary Debate Association, and the National Speech and Debate Association.
Elizabeth studied International Politics at St. Antony's at Oxford University, Leadership Development at Columbia, and Psychology at CSN in Nevada. Elizabeth has worked with local government leaders in Africa, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East, with startups and UN-affiliated humanitarian groups. Before founding Dedimus Potestatem, she worked on Presidential and Congressional campaigns and volunteered with the ACLU and MoveOn. Her objective in establishing Dedimus Potestatem is to build a better world by empowering the next generation to think critically, aim high, empathize, sanctify integrity, and empower their peers to create opportunities based on mutual benefit and long-term cooperation.
Elizabeth is a distinguished member of the WJC Jewish Diplomatic Corps, where she has played a pivotal role in representing the WJC at numerous high-profile international forums. With a track record of participation at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) and the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), Elizabeth has demonstrated her adeptness in navigating complex diplomatic landscapes. Her involvement in these events includes engaging in high-level meetings, where she has effectively advocated for policies and fostered dialogues that align with the WJC's mission. Elizabeth's contributions underscore her commitment to advancing global understanding and cooperation through skilled diplomacy and strategic engagement.
