A World Jewish Congress delegation met at the White House to thank the Biden administration for its plans to develop a national strategy to counter antisemitism, the morning after a new interagency task force to combat hate was announced.
The WJC expressed the gratitude of its president Ronald S. Lauder, who said, "President Biden's commitment to the safety and well-being of Jewish Americans is unshakeable. Antisemitism continues to rise at alarming rates and national action plans and government coordination are necessary tools to fight this scourge--and I thank the Biden White House for its determined response. The WJC is at the administration's disposable to bring the perspective of Jewish communities abroad with experience in creating these strategies, and I stand ready to assist the White House in any way possible to develop and implement the US national action plan."
"I am also grateful for the leadership of Senators Jacky Rosen and James Lankford and Representatives Kathy Manning and Chris Smith, whose continued efforts helped bring the White House to this stage."
