A Nazi-themed bar in South Korea has stirred outrage among foreign diplomats. A bar with a red swastika over its entrance and a picture of a Nazi German soldier on one of its walls opened recently in a district north of Seoul, the English-language newspaper “Korea Herald” reports. The owner claimed not to have thought about possible negative historical connotations. Israel's ambassador to South Korea, Yigal Caspi, called for public pressure on the bar owner to change its look. Displaying Nazi memorabilia is not illegal in the Asian country. "I feel repulsed, outraged and disgusted," Caspi told the newspaper. "Koreans, like Jews, suffered seriously during World War II and it is deplorable to see that some people are blatantly neglecting to understand the suffering of others." Caspi's call was endorsed by the ambassadors of Germany, Ukraine and Slovakia, according to the “Korea Herald”.
