According to a report by Israel's 'Channel 2', Jordan's Foreign Ministry apologized for an incident in which an Israeli family was told by a border official to leave behind their yarmulkes
However, the ministry confirmed that it wasn't permitted to enter the kingdom with Jewish prayer items such as tallit or tefillin, for security reasons.
The apology came after talks between Israel and Jordan, which followed the publication of the incident in December on Facebook post.
A woman described how her family had decided to cancel their vacation to Jordan after receiving a discriminatory welcome at the border, where the father and two boys were told to leave behind their yarmulkes and other "Jewish stuff."
Jordan reportedly insisted that the ban was meant to ensure safety of tourists.
