Spanish police have carried out raids in several regions against an internationally affiliated group of neo-Nazis, arresting 21 "skinheads" involved in arms-trafficking and other crimes. The white-supremacist organization had links to like-minded groups in Britain, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Portugal and the United States, among other countries. Police targeted the Spanish branch of the global Nazi organization known as Blood & Honor, carrying out arrests in Greater Madrid, the southern provinces of Seville and Jaen and in the northern provinces of Burgos and Saragossa. The suspects are accused of offenses against fundamental rights, apology for genocide, criminal conspiracy and arms-trafficking. The Spanish arm of Blood & Honor emerged publicly in late 1999, when it began organizing concerts and rallies where speakers sought to incite xenophobia, racism, anti-Semitism and violence. Anywhere from 300 to 500 Spanish and foreign skinheads typically turn out for Blood & Honor events and on symbolic occasions such as Hitler's birthday.
