A rabbi in the US state of New York has been temporarily suspended from his job after he was arrested for possession of marijuana. The Conservative congregation Sons of Israel suspended Rabbi Steven Kane for 30 days on Wednesday after Kane was arrested earlier this month for possession after police pulled him over for driving erratically, the "New York Times" reports. Kane will be subject to random drug testing and will help develop a curriculum on drugs and alcohol for the congregation’s Hebrew school. Nearly 200 people showed up for the board meeting on Tuesday night where Kane, who has led the congregation for nearly 13 years, make a short statement apologizing for the episode.
