Philosopher Finkielkraut under investigation for calling Israeli director anti-Semitic

A complaint for alleged libel deposed by the Israeli film director Eyal Sivan against French philosopher Alain Finkielkraut is now being formally investigated by French authorities. Sivan's complaint is based on statements by Finkielkraut in a live interview on the Jewish radio station "Radio Communité Juive" last November. He notably said about Sivan, who is the co-author of the documentary "Route 181" on the 1947 border between the Israeli and Palestinian territories, that he was the "author of Jewish anti-Semitism" and perpetrator of hatred against Jews. Therefore, Finkielkraut suggested, "a kind of security barrier" should be erected around Sivan.
